All vowels have three tones: high (â), mid (a) and low (à).
Typesets may use ‹u› or ‹w› in lieu of ‹ɯ›.
Phonotactics
All words begin with a consonant, but otherwise consonants are unnecessary, and indeed many words are made up entirely of vowels beyond the initial consonant. Vowels are not glided on account of the strict moraic-timing of the language. Vowels may extend for up to three morae without changing quality or tone.
Consonant clusters do not ever appear, and consonants never appear in coda position.
Together, these rules give a total of 4*3*3=36 different morae, expressed in an abugida.
